Typically any bass control knob will work on any given amp, as long as it used a telephone cable to hook up. Just find you a cheap one and try it out, if you can't find the bahn one your looking for. When you say you "Picked up" a bass knob, was it and Audiobaun bass knob because those Amps are real funny about what Bass knob you use. Any 2-pair phone cord will work as long as it doesn't flip-flop pairs but you could be using either a Non-Audiobaun bass knob or the incorrect one.(Just because it's an Audiobaun knob doesn't mean it'll work)

The bass knob on the stereo removes "all bass" from every speaker (mid, high and low). You really want to set that and leave it for the most part.
