There is very little reason to used usenet for audiobooks. Go to your local libraries confirm they support Overdrive/Libby and get a library card for all of the library systems in your area. (Usually 1 per county. I have accounts with 3 in my area) Download Libby to your device and set up for all of you new library cards.

Being a littlebiased, the best audiobook source on Usenet is http://abook.ws. It's a forum with a lot of posters and almost 17.000 audiobooks available. To become a member, you can either try to get an invite from someone you already know, or you can become a regular in #abook on irc.vision-irc.net. 5. Share.

In hunt of a good audiobook indexer : usenet - reddit

From what I know there's no really good indexer for audiobooks. Sure, some index alt.binaries.mp3.audiobooks and several other audiobook groups, but the problem with that is that the posters in those groups are not nearly as professional as the posters in tv & movie groups.
