The 2 Creative services that run in the Service Control Panel that regulate the Dolby sound do make the audiodg.exe bleed more memory then normal and exaserbate the problem. Clean boot. open processexplorer (procexp.exe). right click speaker in task bar left click sounds (the applet opens) left click asterisk (test button becomes available) Click the test button - the green arrow Inside process exporer find audiodg.exe and right click it and select properties.

The memory occupied by audiodg.exe will not be released. When a sound is played, the memory usage will increase.
