Speakerphone is a speaker simulator plug-in, powered by Altiverb, with a host of environments to put them in.. A bad GSM connection on a busy sidewalk, a bullhorn with feedback and a helicopter overhead, or a 1952 rockabilly guitar amp in a recording studio live room: Speakerphone gives you authentic speakers of any size together with their natural environments.

Sonitex is synth-edit but very in-depth, and a complete lo-fi multi-FX suite that's a tweaker's dream. Chipcrusher is geared towards old video game cabinets and consoles ran through TVs, but it's amenable to a lot of tweaking. There's also something called Dyvision Video Tape Emulator which does a good job of emulating VHS recordings. Quite cheap.

I achieved it by using only plugin - Audioease (the people that make Altiverb) Speakerphone. There are several components within in this plugin that might help you achieve your sound. One of the components introduces wow (rhythmic, slow pitch anomalies).

Yes, I have to agree. Speakerphone is excellent. Altiverb is pretty much the standard for IRs. BarbaBatch is still the best audio conversion utility IMO. So AudioEase knows audio, but this seems uncharacteristic of their typical quality.
