It's all about synergy so take anyone's advice (mine included) with a grain of salt. I have been through several integrated amps over the last 2 years including Luxman L-590 AX, Accuphase E-470 and E-600, Gato AMP-150 and Esoteric F-05. This is the Ayre AX-5 Twenty. This is an original Twenty version not an upgraded one. It is in black so it makes it more Rare. I love Ayre products. My entire system is. This item just was barely used in a 2nd system after I upgraded my main system. I have had Ayre units since the original D-1 and Im still in love with the sound.

Ayre AX-5 in excellent condition. I never thought I would prefer the sound of an integrated to separates, but this really does sound unbelievable. There is a tiny dot to the right of the volume knob. Ayre has a 7 year plus lifespan on their components. They just make upgrades like cars that do mid life cycle refreshes. Don't know how that will be handled now that Charlie is gone (RIP), but they have other great minds at Ayre and I know that they had a bunch of other projects that he was working on.
