the 8000PPA is a very good phono stage. period. it is very flexible with its loading options, and is a bit sensitive to cable selection. i sold one of mine, i kept one, and got more than the £250 asking price for it. any of those budget (ok, modern) headline stealers are just budget stuff. the Audiolab was, and still is, a high end component.
