Speaker match for Audiolab 8200A/8200CD After reading many positive reviews of the new line from Audiolab i decided on the 8200 components for my new system. I have an old pair of Mission 700 that have served me well but one of the drivers seems to have packed up and am looking to find something modern to replace them with.
Audiolab 8200A review | What Hi-Fi?

In use, the 8200A has a bright sound that brims with detail; the words ‘clean and crisp’ keep coming to mind. And despite the conservative 60W per channel power rating, it manages to drive everything – from KEF’s Q300s to our reference ATC SCM 50s – to commendably high levels.

The 8200a was and is essentially the 'audiophile Audiolab', by virtue of not having any tone controls (unlike the switchable bass and treble of the original 8000a).

Audiolab: the brand that launched a thousand hi-fi's. Many thousand, indeed. For many years towards the end of the 20th century, the Audiolab 8000A was the integrated amp to own as part of a ...

The controls on these sleek Audiolab 8200 Series components were pure pleasure; I could have played with them all day long. The 8200CD CD player uses the Sabre 32-bit DAC from ESS Technology—hot. The 8200Q preamp’s six line-level inputs respond to remote control, but you’ll want to caress this thing; the volume knob is a motorized potentiometer for …
distortion on my system | Stereophile.com
https://www.stereophile.com/content/distortion-my-system
It is possible you are driving the Audiolab 8200A into clipping. The PMCs have relatively low sensitivity. You could run an 8200P on the low frequency section of the PMCs with the 8200A taking the high frequency section in a biamp configuration. Or you could just use the 8200A as a preamp and try an Emotiva XPA-2 or a pair of UPA-1s.

Well i don´t know 8200P but compared with 8200A the 8200MB are very different.Might be also due that they don´t reach given specs,I highly doubt the given specs in power by audiolab.Thats why I wrote the 8200MB should control most speakers. For a RX 6 and GX100 fairly enough but i cant say that for the 8200A with confidence.

It was nice to see Audiolab products again—simple components with simple livery, not the stylish, but incomprehensible faceplates of the products manufactured after TAG Mclaren acquired the firm. Jon Iverson, Stephen Mejias, and I didn't get a chance to hear the new 8000Q preamplifier, 8000M 125W mono amplifier, 8000P 100Wpc stereo amplifier, 8000CD CD player, …
