Feb 5, 2018. Messages. 287. Jul 26, 2021. #4. Everything that the microphone captures will be time-aligned. Phase differences between drivers will remain, but the sum will be time-aligned. The difference between passive and digital (Audiolense) crossovers do usually not show on the simulations. Reactions:

Audiolense is a state of the art solution for digital crossovers, frequency correction and true time domain correction. The frequency correction is included in all version. This alone is enough to improve the sound quality in the finest audio systems. Our 2.0 offering is in our opinion one of the best bargains in high end hi-fi.

The crossovers are custom digital crossovers created by Bernt in Audiolense. They resemble NT crossovers. All crossovers are symmetrical but they are not all the same width. You can see the M2 is crossover over at 800hz using a 2 octave crossover. The high frequency stereo sub pair are crossed over at 175hz also using a 2 octave crossover width.

A bug that goes back to the launc of Audiolense 6 was recently discover and fixed. Only applies to speakers where crossovers are applied to some, but not all of the drivers. Implemented less-close shaving on the left side of the IR in the automatic noise removal. It has shaved too close on a couple of occations recently. [20 jan 2021]
crossover question

To start with your premise, the crossover you get from Audiolense is guaranteed to have a different slope than your current speakers. There is a risk that the two crossovers somewhat end up working against each other – something that’s attenuated by the embedded crossovers will be amplified by the digital xo.

Olli said: @Wombat : I don't exactly understand how this calculator would help me determine if 1) more subs would help eliminating room modes and 2) where I would need to cross them. BTW, I am using Audiolense with a virtual 2 way set up, a 3 way compact speaker that is on top of two subs, crossing over at 98 Hz.

Accurate and Audiolense are massively more powerful and, based on Mitch’s comments, are in a different league. I’m not for a moment suggesting that using them is a walk in the park but I’m certainly inclined to give it a go. If I get stuck then I’ll make use of Mitch’s services. iansr, Nov 16, 2020. #4.
