A review would answer that question. Description The Audionet Max ($30,500/pair), which was designed and are manufactured in Germany, costs almost the same as that of another German monoblock, AVM's Ovation MA8.2 ($29,900/pair), which I reviewed in the April 2017 issue .

The top-of-the-line MAX Mono Amplifier from Audionet reminded me of their smaller brother, the AMP monos, which I reviewed earlier. There is a strong family resemblance in the cosmetics and features. But the resemblance pales when it comes to performance: the MAX do more than merely double up the wattage per channel.

Other Audionet devices—like the MAX—can be switched on via the Audionet link with the use of optional TosLink optical cables, and all functions can be controlled using the compact RC1 remote. A dual-mono design using miniaturized Surface Mount Device technology, the PRE G2 is completely DC-coupled, with no capacitors in the signal path.

in a silk glove. Rather than strident hi-fi highs, the MAX offers a low-noise, realistic treble. At twice the power, it's even smoother than the AMP monos! Perhaps there is a miniscule rounding up there that enables the purging of harshness? The Family Difference And it's not just the big swings. At the other end, returning to those

1. level 1. [deleted] · 4y · edited 4y. I'm completely at a loss to what this $30K/pair set of monoblocks (400W into 8 ohms, each) offers over a $600 pro power amp like a Crown XLS 2502, which delivers more power in a smaller package, with outstanding measurements. Other than aesthetics, but that's a hell of a premium to pay for metal faceplates.

The Max amps are dynamic, spacious yet provide pinpoint spacial cues and a high degree of detail. Also, transients are sharp and quick without fatigue, bass is articulate and powerful.

Audionet is pure, honest and tight; three very good reasons for buying the DNP and AMP. That the AMP power amplifiers have a distinct influence on the overall result should be clear. If you are after maximum control they should be at the top of your list. Note: This review was originally published in the Dutch magazine Music Emotion

IMO, The Audionet Scientist Series (Humboldt Integrated, Stern Preamp & Heisenberg Monoblocks) are in a different league from the AMP and MAX series performance wise.
