This was the 2496 and a Behringer UB802 mixer. Phantom power, multiple ins and outs (via the mixer), MIDI, and a high quality sound card. However, that setup had a few problems. I found the mic pres to be a bit noisy ("invisible mic preamps" my foot), and it did not have instrument inputs to match impedance.

Aug 25, 2007 12:05 am. Definitely don't turn on the phantom power from a mixer or preamp because its 48V, and the PC mics only expect 5V. Its probably a different delivery method anyways, delivered via either the tip, ring, or sleeve of the little 1/8" plug. It probably does't map to the correct element thru the adaptor.
