Yes, I don´t use the green marker anymore. The reason is that the Technics SL-XP 300. is the singular player reacting to it, none of the others is susceptible to the 'effects' of green colour coating the edges of a CD. Really, one player out of 30 or so is not enough to merit the time needed for the procedure.

The Audioprism Blacklight II was a disappointing tweak. It caused my transport to miscue 50% of the time and usually mistracked about 50% of the time as well. I've tried other cd players, and I noticed similar problems. I sent the item back to Audioprism for an exchange, but the same problems occurred with the one they sent.

AudioPrism is a small Hi-Fi specialist company with a fine history of offering cost effective tweaks. Their CD Stoplight was one of the first "treatments" for the plague of early digititis—a homely little green marker pen used to paint the edges of CDs, thus to reduce internal reflections that might trigger error correction circuitry.

The intensity of my interest in the subject was heightened by a product called "CD Stoplight," marketed by AudioPrism. CD Stoplight is a green paint applied to the outside edge of a CD (not the disc surface, but the 1.2mm disc thickness) that reportedly improves sound quality.

A way to improve CD sound quality - Self-Development Forum

    http://selfdevelopmentforum.com/index.php?topic=4234.0
CD Stoplight was developed to passively reduce the effects of stray light. By absorbing the stray light at the transport passively, rather than attempting to reduce its effects downstream electronically, jitter is reduced at the source, keeping it out of the playback chain. Packaged with a special applicator, CD Stoplight is easy to apply.
