HOWEVER the beamforming grid is NOT run "ultralinear" fashion tapped off the output transformer, but just fed a straight DC voltage. "Pure tetrode" type output stage. needless to say 2 weeks later and I have ordered an Audioromy 828 amplifier. based on 1 FU29 VHF dual tetrode per channel and with 6n1 and 6n2 tubes it puts out a claimed 30WPC in from the limited amount I have read it is a solid performer.

Note that although the FU29 (same as 829) is a dual tetrode, and is wired in push-pull in this amp, it is *NOT* run in an ultralinear mode, but in a "pure tetrode" mode.
