Audioslave: Audioslave Album Review | Pitchfork

Audioslave. It's like it was tailor-made for a Sam Goody voiceover.) It's kind of incredible how slick and lifeless the Rage band sounds without de la Rocha spitting all over everything. The guys...

To me, this song shows that Audioslave are not the one-trick ponys that some of their critics label them as, but are capable of variety in the moment, as well as some quite exquisite musical moments, such as Cornell's low crooning during the verses.

Audioslave doesn’t hold back in quantity or quality. The album is stacked with 14 tracks of pure fury. Although clocking in at over an hour, the album doesn’t have any dull moments. The songs show the incredible chemistry the group shares. Audioslave sounds exactly like one would expect Tom Morello and Chris Cornell to produce.

Review Summary: A solid album that immediately sets apart Audioslave as a band in it's own right. Everything from the great riffs and guitar work from Tom Morello, to the solid production will appeal to many a rock fan. However, there is nothing especially ground-breakin

No, Audioslave create a scale-laced riff that provides the brain and brawn needed in a rock song. It's overall a very unforgiving yet ultimately enjoyable song that can rock. The other side of the rock songs appear to have less of an appeal, and rely on power chords, screaming vocals and semi-interesting solos to make it a complete song.

Audioslave is rarely compared to Soundgarden, but they also sound different there too. This cd takes a few listens to get into, especially if you're expecting RATM with a new vocalist--if this is what you are expecting, then you WILL be disappointed. Keeping in mind that this is a different band, here is my track by track review of the album:

Audioslave Review. It's subtle, but telling, that the cover of Audioslave 's eponymous debut is designed by Storm Thorgerson, the artist behind Pink Floyd 's greatest album sleeves. Thorgerson, along with Roger Dean, epitomized the look of the '70s, the era of supergroups, which is precisely what Audioslave is -- a meeting of Rage Against the ...

"Audioslave" opens with "Cochise", a sludgy stomp that is probably the closest to pure SOUNDGARDEN, as Cornell screams at his grungy best, a new, ragged edge adding texture and maturity to his...
