The tweeters were usually piezo or CTS cones. The cost of components and construction were better than some brands, but far below others.

    For speakers I purchased 2 sets of audiosphere research 18Ls which I still have today and 2 sets of Sound dymanic 1500 concert monitors which i also still have. The audiospheres have an active circuit breaker in each of the two pods, one to protect the woofers and one to protect the mid's and highs.
