The Avantone CV-12 blows away a stock Rode NTK. Vocals through the CV-12 sounds full and lush, compared to the stock NTK (which is sounds thin and harsh). I will be swapping the NTK stock tube with a NOS telefunken e88cc, which I've been told improves the sound immensely. However, for my money, you can't go wrong with the CV-12. Sherri R.
