Re: No Audio Playback in Media Composer. Reply Contact. Try the following. Open Avid and launch a project (any project). Launch the audio tool and try and output tone. If this works, try playing a clip or sequence. You should have audio working for the rest of your session.

But when I try to capture new material from DigiBeta, BetaSp, miniDV and so on, no audio signal is being displayed in the audio tool nor can be heard in the speakers. In the Avid XPress Pro for PC forum this problem could be solved by changing the setting in the Audio Project Setting -> DV Audio Pattern from Unlocked Audio to Locked Audio !

I installed Pro Tools First, opened up the default "Blues", click play and no sound comes out (and my volume is definitely up). I click Playback Engine, and see it set to Realtek High Definition Audio. I try changing to my regular output device from my LG TV. I then get the message that the project must be restarted. I restart. I open up.
