Whenever you're getting surround audio into the Avr-247 it has some tiny icons onscreen that tells you if its DTS, DolbyPrologic etc. If i hook up my dvd players thru the optical inputs the Avr-247 shows me what kind of audio i am getting it's usually Dolby Digital or DTS and things sound really good.
