I don't use AVStoDVD, but I notice that your source audio is AC3 448 kbps, which is the same spec as your output.So you could just use the original audio (e.g. with MKVExtractGUI) and get a better result, don't know if it will help your sync problem though. For that matter, the source video is MPEG2. So you don't need to reencode that either.

Hey guys, I just finished building my new HTPC (build below). I use as a XBMC front-end to manage ripped dvd and blu rays, and MPC-HC to view my HD content. I have installed spdifer as a filter in MPC-HC to allow me to output 5.1 audio through my mobo's spdif output. This works great on some movies, but others, not so well.

Here is something else that might help: "Virtualdub (or a variant) can easily change the framerate of the video. Audacity or Goldwave (or similar) is needed to change the audio to keep sync. Open the video in virtualdubmpeg2 (for example) and click on Video -> Framerate, then click on Change to [ ] frames per second and enter 25. Save the new avi.
