ubuntu karmic 9.10 sound fix solved. did a fresh install , did a full update, waited and 24 hrs later did another, installed ati catalyst, then….. redone for more recent pakages, as well, removed a couple useless ones doesnt involve removing pulse. gets sound through hdmi earphones and laptop speakers still testing, but all works

Has anybody figured out the audio problem with Ubuntu 9.10. When I boot Ubuntu I often have problems when listening to music using RhythmBox. The tempo is slow and all vocals take on a deep bass tone. Normally I shut down Ubuntu then shut down Virtual box - restart both and the tempo returns to normal, but not always.
