The LED clipping sounds great. I used a DPDT (X-wing) switch so I can change with a stomp. I put the diodes in parallel (with opposing polarities) on one end of the switch, and the LEDs in parallel on the other side. Then connected the center of the switch to the circuit. I mounted the LEDs on the pedal, so I can see them light up when clipping.
