When you add an amp, the amp built into the receiver becomes obsolete, isn't used. Unless you just want to use a 2 channel amp and let the receiver carry the rest of the speakers but with 4 A9's, not a viable option. In your case, a 5 channel amp to cover the 4 A9's and then use the extra channel for the center.
