Echo Audio is very good about driver updates, and their cards are certainly as good or better than M-Audio cards in terms of sound quality at any given price point. The MIA is the one that corresponds to the 2496; you can buy it new for about $125. I believe the current driver set for the entire Echo Audio line supports Vista.

I feel that it's a bargain high-fidelity card that sounds better than any mid-fi CD player I've ever listened to, particularly when properly amped with a quality headamp and upsampling to 24/96.
