I rebooted and tried the BIOS again and this time a saw an option that either I missed the first time, or, it only showed up when I put the soundcard in. Under the Security section, there was an option to Hide the Onboard Audio. I turned that on, saved and rebooted and saw the soundblaster and no onboard audio. Works like a charm.

In order for this to work, I had to remove my Sound Blaster Recon3D PCIe and I've tried installing realtek drivers in order to use the Integrated 7.1 Audio chip on the MOBO but it refuses to install.
