Ratings: +635. I've been looking into this Bitmapping thing, and it's supposed to work alongside upsampled music from 44khz to 88, and higher frequencies. I'm just trying it out, and I'm upsampling to 88khz (176khz I get no sound at all..) but it sounds weaker than the standard 48khz. The Bass seems to have dropped off a bit.

For that case, the higher the quality, the better. Last I checked, the "upsampling" frequency was used to determine SACD re-sampling frequency (though the PS3's audio output settings should really control this and allow up to 192kHz). Bottom line. You will get the best SACD playback by having "upsampling" turned on.
