The BB 2.5mm jack is wired specially for BB stuff. A normal stereo headphone jack has 3 connectors on it (see pic). BB uses a proprietary 4 pin pinout that may be found here. I bought a cheapo 3 pin adapter on ebay and it would not work. I buzzed out the connections and they conformed to neiter standard. The message here is clear.
