If it doesn't have Bluetooth built in (check for the logo and extra fakra connectors on unit), then make sure that it has optical ports - these would be needed to connect to a MULF2 unit in the boot to provide the Bluetooth.

Now in iDrive menu: => CD/Multimedia => External devices => bluetooth (audio) Your phone should be in the list (and the little music icon is probably grayed out)
