The Bryston is too limited in flexibility (slopes, frequencies, etc.). The First Watt B5 is designed specifically for OB loudspeakers and subs, and at any rate is discontinued. So is the B4, which is the x/o you may want (it is VERY flexible: 1st/2nd/3rd/4th-order filters in 25Hz increments from 25Hz to over 6k!).

I have MG3A speakers; I am using 2 Bryston 10B sub crossovers and VMPS larger subwoofers (triamplified system). Biamping the MG3A speakers is the single biggest improvement I have made in more than 15 years of owning the Magnepans. The Bryston crossovers sound very good, quite transparent.

An update and public acknowledgement of Bryston's superb service and customer care are in order.I received the repaired 14BSST on July 21, 2005. Bryston despatched all the parts free to their New Delhi(India)distributor, who charged me the equivalent of USD 225 !! Most important the amp seems to be working fine though a little on the bright side.

The 10B would become a MASSIVE component costing much, much more. The XM44 has gain for each channel and you can order slopes that are much steeper that the 10B, 48db per octave. The Rane is the most flexible, with gain for each channel, adjustable freqs for each channel, even adds delay if you need it.
