Using imgburn I burned several dvd's and data discs with no issue so It's not an issue with the burner itself. I can also rip cds with no issue and Itunes will burn songs as an mp3 disc oddly enough . I hadn't tried to burn an audio cd until last night and have not successfully burned one yet.
