BTW, Windows Update is really bad about identifying Realtek audio devices as C-Media audio devices (which would cause the message you got). If we determine that that is what is happening here, that would be the time to download the Realtek AC'97 Codeeugen66 suggested. You may need to download the Realtek High Definition Audio Codecs, too.
