The DTMF decoder ckt that I designed using CM8870 is not able to decode the caller id information from service provider (In india), but is able to decode DTMF from my phone (when i dial). I bought a local made caller id box (Eurotel CID 8089) to check the pattern (it is FSK and DTMF compatible) it works fine.
