I heard good things about the cary 303-300. Does anyone have firsthand experience of this unit? if so, what are the pros and cons? I own the cary 308T and couldnt be more pleased. My question has an ulterior motive. I am building a second system and would like to know if the 303-300 is actually all that cary says it is?

A beautiful black Cary 303/300 tube CD player with NOS Radio Technique tubes. Absoluteley glorius sound when used direct with the internal analogue preamp into my Classe mono blocks. Eliminate the use for a preamp and another set of high end cables go direct into power amp with remote volume control.

Looked into the Mac MCD500 but it's 6500.00 puts it out of the plan. Found a used Cary 303/300 for around 2k. Giving it some serious thought. It seems like the right piece of gear. But my heart is pulling me to the MF A5. Drivng me crazy! Another suggestion to me was the Marnatz SA11-s1.

The laser drive out of the Apex was dated 2001 which was probably 5 years older than my 303/300. But bottom line it works if you can live w/the drawer hanging up. I'll probably wind up ordering the exact replacement from Cary & swapping it out now that I have practice.
