It could be one of the tubes that is faulty or it could be the Class A output stage. I am guessing the BHK is not providing gain for the "inverted" signal pins on the XLR balanced output.

The QSC had much better tone definition and slam than the Bryston, and is available at professional musician's outlets for around $1000. I am running Brystons on my RWO/FOSTEX LS4 LABOROTORY SERIES 4 way design dual 15 inch drivers. Iwas completely blown away,the very best bottom end i have heard to date.Hard drivers to get moveing 900 watts 4ohms no problem plenty of power to spare.Burn in 100hrs then she started too really open up.Previos amps i owned bryston 3bst,classe,krell.
