The music through the CDT's sounds much closer to my ~$3000 home system. They sound so good, I am seriously contemplating replacing the mm651s with the cheaper but better sounding CDT's. Cost alone doesn't mean a speaker sounds better, trust your ear. You will not regret buying these. Best speakers this side of Focals, and much cheaper.

He’s just hooking a set of speakers to a head unit and having to set EQs. If he can’t do that then he shouldn’t own a car audio system. But most likely he is capable of doing that. And he has heard good speakers before and has probably hooked them up in his vehicle and tuned his head unit to make them sound good. He can’t be stupid.

Even "unique" things like 6.5" subs (actual subwoofers that go in a typical 6.5" midbass location). Just lots and lots of variety. They are having a sale right now where a lot of their speakers are on sale for $99 a pair.

i have the cdt 6.5 mid bass woofer that handles 140w rms on crossfire vr 404 and they sound really good. voices are nice and clean and mid bass and even low bass is rockin. sometimes i turn my sub off and just listen to them. i als had a pair of cdt 6.5s in the door with the upstage and i traded those for an alpine radio with pandora 4life but they sounded really nice. …

Of all those I enjoyed the Diamond Audio, CDT, and Dynaudio the most. I decided on CDT. I love the silk tweeters. Great speakers that really please my ears. I also invested in CDT's upstage kit and my front stage is amazing. Music comes at me from the windshield and blends perfectly with the comps in the doors.

These speakers in particular are excellent. The mids are right where they should be, and at higher volumes powered by an amp, they are marvelous. If anything I would change I would say to add a little more treble, but these are midrange, so i can't ask for too much. In my personal opinion, CDT makes the very best car audio for the price.
