Type "control panel" in Run Dialog and check your audio device. If it says that no audio device is installed, check to see if it is already installed. You can do this by Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management>Device Manager. Check around there to see if your audio device is there. If not, add it from control panel.

Settings → System → Sound tells me "No output devices found" (same for input devices). This is what I get in Control Panel → Hardware and Sound → Sound: However, if I look in Settings → Devices → Bluetooth & other devices, it does list my three output devices. Looking at the Device Manager, I also found these audio devices listed.
