Tested VirtualBox 5.2.32 on Windows 7 host and Windows XP/7 guests. Audio quality is good. There is no distortion/skipping/stutter. However, delay is built up while playing sound. Audio is in sync at start but drifts gradually. There is a 2 second delay after 2 hours of playing. It is noticeable when start, pause or resume playing.

Since upgrading to VirtualBox 3.0.0, audio and video playback have become unusable with mplayer. Audio will stutter and skip constantly; video will pause for a moment and then catch up, repeatedly. This does not happen to such a great degree with other audio/video playback programs, but all exhibit the behaviour to a noticeable degree.

I've just installed Hyper-V 2008 R2, and created a guest VM which is a Windows 7 64 bit PC. Mostly working OK as far as I can see - except for the audio. When I connect to the Win7 VM over RDP I get audio to my PC, but the audio is choppy and pretty awful.
