DIY Streaming Audio Player - Circuit Cellar
https://circuitcellar.com/research-design-hub/projects/diy-streaming-audio-player/
The entire streaming player draws 450 to 500 mA from the 5 V supply, varying slightly with audio volume, for a total dissipation around 2.5 W. After shutting the system down with sudo shutdown -P now, it draws less than 30 mA and dissipates 150 mW; much of that current may light up the RPI’s red power LED hidden inside the case.

Hi-Fi Audio Engineering Workspace. Jan Didden is a talented audio engineer and author with a well-stocked lab in Turnhout, Belgium. He recently gave us a tour of space and talked about his current audio design projects. This is an excellent place to work. It is a converted army barrack so, being an old army man myself, I feel comfortable here.
GNU Radio for Audio DSP - Circuit Cellar
https://circuitcellar.com/research-design-hub/projects/gnu-radio-for-audio-dsp/
SYNCHRONIZED AUDIO INPUTS. DSP circuits built with GNU Radio normally use radio frequency hardware for the initial RF amplification and downconversion to a practical intermediate frequency. Quadrature-sampling ADCs produce streams of digital data that the PC receives through a USB, PCI, or PCIe interface capable of the required data rate, with ...

Fog-Detection Audio Project - Circuit Cellar
https://circuitcellar.com/archive-article/fog-detection-audio-project/
In a previous article (March 2011, Circuit Cellar 248), I presented the Microchip Technology (formerly Supertex) SR10, an inductorless switching power supply controller intended for operation directly from a rectified 120/240 VAC line. This was presented in support of creating a 5 V supply for a lighthouse fixture designed using LEDs. This month’s project will build upon …
