Do you have 5.1 speakers connected to your pc? The loud blaring noise, did it sound anything like the game sound. Try just turning the volume down. Btw if you installed Cod4 X, you can safely disable stereo mix again, it's not needed. It's a loud beeping noise, but it's constant. Changing any audio settings crashes the game.
