This setup has worked great for years with the old Motorola cable box. This setup does not work for the new, slimline XG1v4-A cable box. Therefore, I had to trade that cable box in for the larger XG1 cable box. This box has its own digital optical audio output port on it, which I feed to my surround sound system.

This can be done either with a splitter, which Comcast will provide for free, or by running the raw RF (coax) cable from the wall, directly to the 640, and then the RF out from the 640 to the Moto box. This will work, because the RF out from the 640 is purely a pass-through. Then, run S-Vid, and R/L audio outs from the Moto to the 640.
