Using Compressor - but no audio - Apple Community
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250366796
I have an hour-long project (slideshow) completed in FCX. There is audio throughout. It is too big apparently to just burn to DVD so I got Compressor. Used it to output a smaller file (Mpeg2). The problem is, despite choosing an audio format, NO audio is on the finished product - only the video (slides). Beem through the manual file.
MPEG-2 setting in Compressor - Apple Support
https://support.apple.com/guide/compressor/mpeg-2-cpsr389d5197/mac
The built-in MPEG-2 for DVD setting encodes only a video file. To encode the accompanying audio, use the Dolby Digital audio setting. The easiest way to do this is to apply the Create DVD destination to your source file, which adds both the MPEG-2 for DVD setting and the Dolby Digital setting to your job.
No audio after using Compressor - Apple Community
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1535699
Question: Q: No audio after using Compressor. Hello folks, ... if you want MPEG-2 then you need to make it a program or a transport stream. But you have to make sure the computer it will play on can handle playing an MPEG movie. Many cannot without a plug-in. An H.264 is way better than MPEG-2 at a smaller file size and a lower bit rate.
Compressor file comes out with no sound??
http://www.lafcpug.org/phorum/read.php?1,211039
The MPEG-2 file on my desktop that Compressor spit out has no sound, so I believe the problem started there. I've never used Compressor before - are there special steps I don't know about to make the sound export with the video? The sound on the file, while in Compressor DOES work, just not after the export? Anything at all would help.
converting MPEG files / no sound issue - lafcpug

Odds are the files you have are MPEG-2 program streams. These contain picture and sound in a "muxed" format. Many applications have a hard time dealing with "muxed" streams. MPEG Streamclip is not one of them. So that's your choice. The bad news: MPEG Streamclip cannot (to my knowledge) be automated. You have to export each file manually.
