I do not have the volume icon in the taskbar. It just dissapeared one day, not even sure when. I keep getting a code 10 when I try to start my Conexant AC-link audio. One of these actually installed, but the problem is that when I try to install the Conexant AC-Link Audio driver (Conexant_Audio_6.14.10.0565) I get a message saying that the device cannot start [code 10]. Currently in the device manager I can see the "Realtek AC'97 Audio" driver, but there is an exclamation point next to it.

Tried installing oem XP drivers in Compatibility mode and worked once. After restarting the PC the red cross at the speaker icon came back and the "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" was displayed again. Tried to install the oem driver again and never worked. Tried several conexant drivers and realtek drivers and nothing worked.
