The audio card is a Conexant HD audio and it does not produce any sound at all. I read several posts about this specific problem, which seems to be well known, but nothing I read, including reinstalling Alsa drivers, seems to work for me.

It is great, and I am again dual-booting Windows 10 and Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon, but unfortunately this laptop includes a Conexant CX20672 audio chip (according to the info in the available Windows 10 driver on the Asus support page) rather than a more common Realtek, and sound isn't working for me in Linux!
