and whatever I do.. if I use the old audio or the new 48khz, the audio and video are not anymore in sync. there are not many converters which can convert to Avid DnxHD format.. streamclip wont work, i ordered Brorsoft Video Converter which converts withouth problems but the audio is not in sync anymore. I need a day to rest to find a solution..

With an audio converter I converted over 1000 wave files from 44kHz to 48kHz in a patch process. In Sonar Preferences for New Projects I have also changed the sampling rate to 48000Hz. If I now load an existing project with the converted wave files, all waves are cut off at the end or set to silence.

My default rate is 48kHz and most of my projects are at that rate. Some sample packs that i have contain audio files that are at 44.1kHz so when i bring them into a project I tell cubase to convert them to 48kHz. Is there any reason i shouldn’t be doing this? Our audio mixer says we should be working entirely in 48kHz. Will working with the 2 different rates be a problem? I know it used to be problematic, but am curious as to whether this has been resolved with all the new software and hardware. If we should indeed convert all the tracks to 48kHz, is this something we can do?

SoundForge 7 will "convert" (technically, re-sample) the sounds, yes. And while you could do it by simply saving the file as a 96 kHz .WAV file from within SF, you'd be better off to use SoundForge's re-sample tool. Some of the options in that tool sound better with certain types of audio material, so you may want to experiment.
