Go to System Settings/Sound and set everything (Input/Output) to built-in audio. Input, choose something other than Microphone if possible but not digital, Output to built-inaudio or whatever works for the computer speakers. In your \Program Files\Acoustica Mixcraft 8 folder there are two shortcuts i.e. "Reset Audio To Factory Defaults" and "Reset To Factory Defaults". Try "Reset Audio To Factory Defaults" and see if that resolves the issue. Personally I've never used either (never had the need to) but I see Greg from Acoustica Support suggests it from time to time.
