Yeah, Avid messed-up a little recently with regards to making audio mixdowns and their stereo tracks in the timeline. It's the only new feature I hate, hate, hate. Anyway, the solution is simpe. 1. Select your in/out in the timeline. 2. Select all audio layers. 3. Export as a stereo WAV file. 4. Import the WAV file back into the Avid. No quality lost.

To mixdown the audio tracks, you can select in/out and select the audio tracks you want included, and then to go timeline > mixdown > audio > to sequence, choose a target track and select 'mono'. That will give you a single mono track that you can pan hard left, and then do the same with your VO and pan that all the way right.

Lo/Ro (Left All / Right All) stereo mix by ducking levels. There's some formula, do a search. I use Minnetonka's SurCode to create Lt/Rt mixes when needed.
