Hence why it is so cheap. It has no Creative hardware at all. From my experience, most sound cards from Creative sound way better than the integrated sound (not the Audigy FX, which has no Creative hardware). I used to have an original Audigy replaced then by an Audigy X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro that I regret selling so much.

I use an Audigy 1 card in my Vista X64 Ultimate (sig) machine. It sounds quite a bit better when playing high quality mp3's (256-320kb VBR) than my onboard sound. I'd never go back to it. I pulled it from my brothers old S939 3500+ rig and haven't looked back. One more plus on a dedicated sound card.

Creative's Audigy and X-Fi cards have higher output level than the onboard ones. The onboard interfaces I used cannot drive my $80 Sony earphones to desired level. Some of them also have audible noise floor even when everything are muted. Creative cards with hardware DSPs (10k1, 10k2, X-Fi XtremeGamer or above) also support multi-client ASIO.
