We are able to use every other application fine, but cubase has had some issues. The worst one is crackling when record is enabled on any VST instrument. First of all, is your soundcards audiodriver selected in Cubase and not the ASIO driver. 41.4kHz is not the buffersize but the samplerate. 1. The crackling noise is due to insufficient CPU usage. 2. CPU will overload more easily on certain presets with more effects and/or dual amp setting. 3. Incidentally, the audio load meter in Cubase is never over half way and that’s only in sessions with many tracks and many instances of big plugins, such as Slate VTM. So, even in a tiny session of say, four tracks of drums, the problem still occurs. A brand new pc of this spec shouldn’t remotely break sweat with the work I’m attempting to do?
