The upshot of that is AC3 generally ends up being quieter than other audio. Chances are the Potplayer AC3 decoder ignores the dialogue normalisation (many software players do) while the Cyberlink Audio Codec does not, hence AC3 being quieter when the Cyberlink Audio Codec is used. Maybe there's a way to disable the dialogue normalisation.

The reason why you don't get audio in your .vob files after you have imported them into PowerDirector is because you have the OEM version which does not support AC3 decoding. Only our retail version supports the playback of .vob files with AC3 decoding. If it does work, I certainly can't figure out how. I do get audio with MP3.

I added the Cyberlink Audio Decoder and blocked all the audio decoder filters I could block. Still, the internal AC3 Audio Decoder always shows up in the filter list when playing a movie, even though I unticked it. In order for Cyberlink Audio Decoder to work it should be the only audio decoder actively used.

My first choice was Cyberlink AC3 decoder/Audio Processing filter, that comes with PowerDVD 5.0. Divx+AC3 playing requires the player with subtitles option, my choice was BSPlayer. There is no problem with getting Dolby Headphone functionality using PowerDVD 5.0 with latest patches, using BSPlayer and Cyberlink Audio Decoder.
