I checked out the website and downloaded the manual for kicks. You may be able to daisy chain this with optical in/out (lightpipe) but that would go into a primary interface other than the 410. For example you could use the firewire 410 with a DIGI 002 if you needed 6 channels with preamps (002 gives you four pre's).

Daisy chaining interfaces and hard drives works perfectly fine. You won't get as good of performance as the 2 devices being on separate firewire busses, but there aren't any problems beyond that. For the vast majority of firewire interfaces, it is recommended to have them connected to the firewire hard drive. So... Laptop > Ext HD > FW Interface.
