No, they weren't as good at my $800 msrp bookshelves or my $1100 msrp towers but they definitely offer great bang for the buck.

"Dayton" is the in-house brand of Parts Express, an excellent supplier of a/v parts, raw speakers, etc. The set you reference is a decent entry level budget system. I have used the satellite speakers in conference rooms at work for simple computer driven sound systems and they work very well. Frankly, for the price, they work better than I expected.
