On my Denon AVR it depends on the signal I am using. I.E. It is not available in HD-master, or Dolby 5.1, I believe because the compression of these signals is very minimal. It's intended for .MP3 type compressed sources, if it does not allow you to select restorer it is because the signal or mode your are in does not require it.
